3 small, antique Japanese dolls
standing females - Tachi Bina
Hina Dolls - Hina Ningyo
the Three Court Ladies or Ladies In Waiting - Sannin Kanjo
Late Edo period, circa 1840-1870
they all have
:
heads on a removable stick, carved wooden faces covered with gofun, glass insets for eyes, no lashes, open mouth,
silk wig, long figured hands with gofun, clothes front side faded, but nice bright on the back
2 wear trousers and I believe they have a paper wound body, these both have a part of a finger missing, one has hair painted around her face, long hair (silk?), these two can not stand on their own, they need support.
1 has a straw filled body, a robe dress, her hands are not damaged, her hair is a mess and her head very loose,
but she has charming dimples in her cheaks and she does stand on her own.
